Openreach Scales New Heights in Fibre Connectivity
Matthew Hemmings, Managing Director, Fibre and Network Delivery, Openreach, talks about their partnership with TCS that helped them streamline business processes, build customer loyalty, and improve digital infrastructure in the UK.
Part of the BT Group, Openreach provides broadband and telephone connectivity to a vast number of UK homes, institutions, and businesses. While ensuring better speed was a priority for service providers worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic disturbed the status quo in irreversible ways, accelerating this trend. The UK telco partnered with TCS given our fibre design capabilities (FTTP and Ethernet) to build scale, drive innovation, and deploy data-led operations. As part of its digital connectivity program, Openreach is using TCS’ extensive capabilities in system transformations, analytics and insights, process mining, and automation.
In partnership with TCS, Openreach aims to connect 25 million premises by 2026, with FTTP. As Matthew Hemmings, MD, Fibre and Network Delivery, Openreach, puts it, “We are going to change the face of UK."
